Introduction
At VONARA, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us, including:
- Account information (email, name)
- Meditation intentions and preferences
- Usage data and analytics
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Generate personalized meditation sessions
- Improve our services
- Communicate with you about your account
Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.
Messages you send us
Draft, pending legal review. This section describes how Vonara handles messages and public posts. Email to support@vonara.app is read by a person today. The automated support system and the community system described below are not running yet, and the wording may change.
What this covers
- Messages to Vonara: email to support@vonara.app, Help in the Vonara apps and web app once they are available, and replies, comments, direct messages and store reviews addressed to Vonara.
- Comments under Vonara's own posts on social platforms.
- Public posts we find on social platforms that were not addressed to us.
Who uses a message
Support. Email to support@vonara.app is delivered to a mailbox hosted by Apple (iCloud Mail) and read by a person on the Vonara team, who answers it. Once the automated support system runs, the Vonara team will answer all messages to Vonara through it. Counts of messages by topic will inform product decisions (see "Only counts, never your words" below).
Vonara's community system is built but not switched on yet. When it runs, it does the following.
Comments on Vonara's posts. The community system collects comments left under Vonara's published posts, with the commenter's public username. Once a day it sends the text of recent comments to Anthropic to research topics. A comment can enter the weekly Community Pick under its published rules. A comment that did not win a closed round may also be turned into a short public video on Vonara's channels. The video shows "Replying to @username" and is an AI-written, AI-narrated meditation built from the comment's own words. Depending on settings, these videos and the Community Pick reply can be posted without a person reviewing each one.
Once the automated support system runs, public praise, goals, purchase interest and feature requests addressed to Vonara elsewhere will be passed to the community team and may get a public reply.
Public posts we find. Public posts that were not addressed to us go to the community system. A decision model screens each post: TypeSafe AI's model when it is configured, otherwise Anthropic's Claude. For an eligible post, Anthropic drafts a reply that offers a free short meditation made from the post's own words. At the same time, before any person has looked at the reply, the system makes that meditation (AI-written, AI-narrated) and uploads the video and its page data to public storage. The meditation opens on a vonara.app gift page that is available in each site language, kept out of search engines and open to anyone with the link. The link carries a referral code, so a sign-up from it is credited to that reply. A person at Vonara approves every reply to a found post before it is posted. If the person declines the reply, nothing is posted, but the meditation and its page stay in public storage; we do not yet remove them. We never republish the text of a found post on Vonara's channels.
How long community data is kept. A post the decision model screens out is blanked at once: its text and title are deleted, and the link, the author's handle and the community it was posted in are kept. The text of an eligible post we did not reply to will be blanked after 7 days once the automatic clean-up runs. This covers the post text only, not its gift. Comments collected from Vonara's posts, posts we replied to, posts whose reply was declined, and gift meditations and gift pages made for found posts (including declined ones) are kept with no end date today. We have not yet set how long we keep them.
Purchase interest never triggers outreach. Private messages (email, direct messages and Help in the apps) never go to the community system.
How messages are classified
Once the automated support system runs, each message to Vonara will be classified once, first by rules and then by an AI model (Anthropic), as a problem, question, praise, goal, purchase interest, feature request or spam. Problems and questions will always go to support. Found posts and Community Pick entries are screened by rules, then by the decision model described above.
Automated assistant
In Help, an automated assistant that uses Anthropic's models will answer first, also for people without a Vonara account. It will tell you so with this notice:
You're chatting with an automated assistant. Ask for a person at any time.
Only counts, never your words
Support messages, including email to support@vonara.app today, and store reviews are not and will never be used for marketing, outreach or testimonials. Only counts by topic, without any text, names, handles or email addresses, will inform the roadmap.
News and offers
News and offers will be off by default. They will turn on only through your own toggle in Help or a written request, never by inference from what you write, and turning them on unlocks nothing in this first version.
Lawful bases
- Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract) when you have an account and write to us about it.
- Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests) for: messages from people without an account; Community Pick entries and replies to comments addressed to us; collecting comments with usernames, researching their topics with Anthropic, and credited short videos made from comments that did not win; and found posts (screening, the drafted reply, the gift meditation made and stored before approval, and the approved reply).
Processors
- Apple (iCloud Mail): the mailbox that receives email to support@vonara.app today.
- Resend: email, once the automated support system runs.
- Anthropic: support classification and the assistant when they launch; comment research; replies and video scripts; screening when TypeSafe AI is not configured.
- TypeSafe AI: screening, only when configured.
- Supabase: database and storage, including the public storage that holds gift meditations and short videos.
- ElevenLabs: narration.
- GitHub: topic counts only.
- The platform you wrote on: Reddit, Google (YouTube), Meta (Instagram) or TikTok.
How long support messages are kept
These periods will be applied by an automatic clean-up that is not running yet.
| What | Kept for |
|---|---|
| messages, after the thread is resolved | 180 days |
| ticket records, kept without message text | 365 days |
| contacts without an account, after the last activity | 365 days |
| text of public posts we found and did not reply to, then blanked | 7 days |
| spam, then deleted | 30 days |
| text of store reviews | 365 days |
| records of deletions | 30 days |
Not covered by these periods yet: email to support@vonara.app in the Apple-hosted mailbox, comments collected from Vonara's posts, posts we replied to or declined, and gift meditations made for found posts (no end date today, see above).
